Television Programming Code
1. Power on TV.
2. Look up the code under the brand of your TV to be programmed. (You may find more than one code listed. Try one at a time.)
3. Switch the mode to the TV position.
4. Hold down the MUTE and SELECT keys simultaneously until the green light under the TV mode flashes two times. Then release.
5. On the number key pad enter the five digit code that coincides with the brand of TV you are programming. The green light under the TV mode should then flash two times if done properly.
6. Press the power button while aiming the remote at the TV and your TV should power off. If not, this was not the correct code and you will need to try the next code listed under the brand of TV you are programming and repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. Switch the mode to the DIRECTV position and press the power button. Your TV should now power back on.
DVD, VCR, and AUX Programming Code
1. Turn on the device you wish to program.
2. Look up the code under the brand of your device to be programmed.
3. Switch the mode to the AV1 position.
4. Hold down the MUTE and SELECT keys simultaneously until the green light under the AV1 mode flashes two times. Then release.
5. On the number key pad enter the five digit code that coincides with the brand of the device you are programming. The green light under the AV1 mode should then flash two times if done properly.
6. Press the power button while aiming the remote at the device you are programming and it should then power off. If not, this was not the correct code and you will need to try the next code listed under the brand of your device you are programming and repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. If you wish to program another device switch the mode now to AV2 and repeat steps 1-6.
Code Search
If you were unable to find the correct code for the device that you wish to program try doing a code search. This could take about 30 minutes.
1. Turn on the device you are programming. If using a DVD or VCR insert a disk or tape.
2. Switch the mode to TV, AV1, or AV2 position depending on which device you will be programming at the time.
3. Hold down the MUTE and SELECT keys simultaneously until the green light under the chosen mode flashes two times. Then release.
4. On the key pad enter 9-9-1 followed by:
0. - Satellite
1. - TV
2. - VCR/DVD
3. - AUX (Stereo Receiver or Amplifier)
4. Press the power button, or whatever functions you wish to use such as the play button for VCR.
5. Point the remote at the device you are programming and slowly press the Channel + key repeatedly until the device turns off. (make sure you do this slowly so you don't pass up the correct code)
6. Press the Channel - key to step back a code.
7. Once the device turns off you have successfully found the correct code. Press and release the Select key to lock in the code.
Note: If you cycle through all the codes and your device will not turn off or respond, the light will then flash 3 times. Therefore, the code you need for programming your device is not available. You will then have to use the remote that came with the device.
Code Search Verification
When using Code Search you may want to verify the code used to program your device. To find out what that code is follow the instructions below:
1. Switch the mode to the appropriate position for the device that was set up using code search.
2. Hold down the MUTE and SELECT keys simultaneously until the green light under the correct mode key flashes two times. Then release.
3. On the key pad enter 9-9-0 and the green light will again flash two times.
4. In the number key pad, press and release the number 1 to see the first number in the code. The green light will then flash the corresponding number for the first digit. (example: If the first digit in the code is 4, the green light will flash 4 times.) Write this number down.
5. Repeat step 4 for each digit pressing number 2 for the second digit, 3 for the third, 4 for the fourth, and five for the fifth digit. You will now know the 5 digit code used to program your device.
Codes for Volume and Mute Functions
The Volume and Mute keys may control only the volume on your TV, no matter what mode you may have your remote set to. You can set up the remote so that the Vol. and Mute keys work only with the device selected under the mode chosen. To enable this feature follow the steps below:
1. Switch the mode to DIRECTV position
2. Hold down the MUTE and SELECT keys simultaneously until the green light under the DIRECTV mode flashes two times. Then release.
3. On the key pad enter 9-9-3 and the green light will flash two times.
4. Press and release the Volume + key and the green light will now flash four times.
Follow steps 1-4 switching the mode to the desired device in step 1.
Now the Volume and Mute keys will work for the device chosen in mode position.
